Sanitary Collection

The Turtleford Transfer Station is a waste disposal site located 1 km West of Turtleford on Hwy. 303, just South of the Co-op Cardlock. Waste is transferred weekly from the Transfer Station to a Landfill Site. Waste can be brought to the Transfer Station during business hours or tagged bags can be placed on the curb on Fridays for weekly collection.

Weekly Collection:

  • Garbage must be at the curb on Fridays by 8 a.m. 
  • Residential Tag-A-Bag $3.00 per tag user-fee for garbage collection
  • One tag per bag
  • Tags must be clearly visible
  • Garbage must be in a bag no bigger than 26” by 32” or 67 Litres.
  • Bag must not exceed 20 kg or 44 lbs.

Tuesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m

The 2nd & 4th Saturdays of the month from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. except for weekends that fall on long weekends.

A Comingling Bin is located at the transfer station for cardboard, plastic, newsprint, paper, and tin cans (rinsed with labels off). No glass.



SARCAN Recycling is located at 200 3rd Street South. The facility accepts computers, monitors, printers, scanners, televisions, household paint, aerosol paint, milk cartons (both paper and plastic), metal beverage cans, plastic and glass bottles as well as juice boxes. Lids are to be removed and discarded prior to depots. Batteries can also be taken but there is no refund for batteries.

Help keep our community clean. When transporting garbage to the landfill, ensure that your load is secure. Littering fines start at $500.
